After missing the festival twice, on 28th August 2015 I was trailing behind an RV, and I was finally on the road to Burning Man.”
First stop, Walmart. After stocking up on some essentials: a snazzy pink bike, water bottles, flashlights, kitchen utensils, we then filled the car with fruits, juices, milk, and a variety of snacks. Enough supplies for our new home. Looking at my new pink bike out of the window, I wondered what adventures my little pink vehicle had in store.
Next stop, the water store. We collected enough for the week and filled up the bathroom in our trailer.
Next stop: Burning Man. The road sign read 10mph and the road soon began to split into 6 different lanes.
We settled in line to join the throng of people in the queue on the wide desert roads. Toilets were well managed, and frequently placed along the way.
IDEATE ! Out of the window, we caught glances of the weird and wonderful “mutant vehicles” alongside us. Finally, we arrived and the campsite officials handed me my tag of Virgin Burner! In our first year, we chose to set up at IDEATE, the largest camp that year.
There was no time to party just yet, however, we spent the first part of our trip constructing our campsite.
After a full day of building, some workmates had already become friends.
We biked around to familiarize ourselves with the area, but were often stopping to take photos of everything we could feast our eyes on.
We spotted a dragon flag erected outside one tent, that later turned out to be some of our fellow countrymen. But on our first day, we were a bit too shy to say hi…
(dART贴纸也留在了咖啡机上) It is an urban myth that only coffee and ice cubes are sold at Burning Man! In fact, there were wide ranges of refreshments on offer.
在这里我第一次现场看到了Acroyoga(杂技瑜伽)。 Here, I came across Acroyoga for the first time!
At sunset, I decided to save my energy for the next day and said goodbye to the tall guardian of the camp.
Day two: the city went through a few days of sand storms.
We will be lighting the fire again soon, until next time...
